They’re abundant and unending and there is space for everyone. Don’t let people silence your call for support by telling you others have it worse. They fail to understand that your cry for empathy or sympathy is usually just the tip of the iceberg. I know many of us crack before we make a sound. (Also it’s a usually a childhood trauma response to tell yourself and others that your feelings aren’t important or don’t matter or that you should be belittled for a seemingly bigger issue. “Shrink yourself. Be quiet. No one likes a complainer.” …but that’s a different conversation)
