My 8 month old kitten haru is in the veterinary emergency room after a seizure attack. She is stable for now, but has been kept under veterinary supervision. I had to carry her dying little body for 20 minutes not knowing if I was going to make it to the vet in time. I have never felt so helpless... ⚠️UPDATE 1:⚠️ Haru is finally out of the vet and home, and although apparently everything seems to be going well, haru has a lot of medical tests ahead of her. Since the seizure attack came out of nowhere, I'm terrified that it will happen again, especially while I'm sleeping and can't help Haru... I prepared coffee and I'm going to stay awake tonight to keep an eye on haru. Starting tomorrow the veterinary tests will begin to try to find out why haru had the seizure attack. The tests are going to be very expensive, as it is necessary several specialist veterinarians and repeat the tests that have been done to Haru today... So in case you want to help financially, I made a 50% discount on ALL my custom content and a 30% discount on all my Past PPV (PPV posted on feed with "🔞Past PPV🔞" tag) ⚠️UPDATE 2:⚠️ Haru is very sore, has a lot of nausea and diarrhea. Her behavior has changed, becoming more grumpy and irascible, which is very rare, as Haru is usually a very affectionate cat. The vet will do some tests on Thursday 10th. She will have an ultrasound to rule out that Haru has a portosystemic shunt (congenital vascular malformation that can cause neurological damage). She will also do a bile acid test just in case, as well as a hemogram and a biochemical test. ⚠️UPDATE 3:⚠️ 08/03/2022 Haru has had a horrible night. She hasn't stopped having diarrhea, and has been very weak, to the point that the vet has moved up the tests from Thursday the 10th to today, Tuesday the 8th.... She has had an echo in which portosystemic shunt has been 90% ruled out by echo, with a bile acid test we can completely rule out portosystemic shunt. The sonographer has not seen intestinal or stomach inflammation (no wall thickening), Normal kidneys (quick look) and Heart looks good (quick look, no echo cardio) The sonographer has seen that Haru has a very large spleen, which would indicate an infectious disease that could be coronavirus, pif, toxoplasmosis, leukemia, feline immunodeficiency... And the list keep going... Haru's bl88d tests have been repeated (hemogram and biochemical analysis). The hemogram was normal, but the biochemical analysis showed several altered values: -MCHC very high (not worrisome if anemia is not present). -PLQ very low (It is not worrying because it is a normal value since it takes a long time to draw bl88d in cats and platelets are compacted). -PTC low (Not of concern as it is a normal value as it takes a long time to draw bl88d in cats and platelets become compacted) -ALKP high (Not of concern as it is normal for the value to be elevated in kittens) -ALT high(This value IS worrisome, since it indicates a possible liver problem). For now the vet has given Haru antibiotics and has given me a veterinary appointment for Friday 11th. If Haru's diarrhea does not improve, I will run to the veterinary emergency room and move the veterinary appointment closer. ⚠️UPDATE 4⚠️ : 10/03/2022 Haru has the worst diarrhea I have ever seen, so my vet has moved up the appointment from tomorrow to today. I'm worried sick, I've been anxious for days and I don't even know what's wrong with Haru yet. ⚠️UPDATE 5⚠️: Today Haru tested negative of Parvo, Corona, FeLV and FIV! Finally some good news 😭❤️ Haru still has horrible diarrhea, but at least we've ruled out some illnesses, which relieves me greatly. Over the next few days I will be collecting samples of Haru's stool to take for analysis (as there is a possibility that Haru has parasites, which is highly unlikely but not impossible, and the vet wants to rule out all possible diseases that are easy to detect and treat before doing a biopsy on Haru) ⚠️UPDATE 6⚠️: Haru's tests came back clean and she has no parasites. This is both good and bad news, because if she had parasites, it would have been very easy to treat. Haru will have the following tests: -TRITRICHOMONAS FOETUS (PCR) Price: 89,80€. Results: 5 days - FPLI (Pancreatitis Diagnosis) Price: 52, 66 €. Results: 3 days - TLI + Cobalamin + Folates (Diagnosis of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, SIBO, ileal disease, and/or hepatopathies. Price: 139, 60 €. Results: 17 days - Bile Acids Price: 33,40 €. Results: 2 days If everything is negative the vet will do a Liver and/or intestinal biopsy💔 ⚠️UPDATE 7⚠️: Haru just had bl00d drawn. First on an empty stomach, and I will return with her to the vet in 2 hours to have her bl00d drawn for a second time, now with her stomach full.
